How to Play
A weather scenario appears - for example, "It is raining outside. What should you wear?" Below it, four emoji options appear as large colourful buttons. Tap the one that shows the correct clothing, activity, or safety advice for that weather.
The game covers rain, sun, snow, wind, fog, thunderstorms, ice, and hot days. There are 10 questions per game. Correct answers trigger a happy animation and earn a point. Wrong answers give a gentle explanation. You have three lives. The game ends with a score and a Play Again button.
What Kids Learn
Weather awareness is a genuine life skill - knowing to put on sunscreen on a sunny day, to stay inside during a thunderstorm, or to wear ice-grip boots on a frosty morning can prevent real harm. Weather Match builds this practical knowledge in the context of a game so it becomes intuitive rather than a list of rules to memorise.
For younger children, the game also develops observational science skills: learning to look at the sky and interpret what they see as a basis for decisions. This cause-and-effect thinking ("because it is raining, I should take an umbrella") is an early form of scientific reasoning.
Tips for Parents
Make a habit of checking the weather together every morning before school and asking your child what they think you should all wear. Weather Match gives them the vocabulary and conceptual framework to engage in this conversation meaningfully. A simple weather diary - drawing the weather each day for a week - is a lovely extension activity that also introduces the idea of data recording.
