How to Play

Each round describes a relatable situation - for example, "Your best friend shares their sweets with you. How do you feel?" Four large emoji faces appear as options. Tap the emotion that best matches how you would feel in that situation.

The game covers 10 common emotional scenarios with emotions including happy, sad, angry, scared, excited, proud, disgusted, loved, and worried. Correct answers earn a point and a warm confirmation. Every answer - right or wrong - is treated gently because emotional responses are personal and the goal is building vocabulary, not testing right answers. You have three lives and the game ends with a celebration.

What Kids Learn

Emotional intelligence - the ability to identify, name, and understand emotions in yourself and others - is one of the strongest predictors of social success, mental health, and even academic performance. Children who have a large emotional vocabulary can communicate their feelings clearly, understand why others behave as they do, and regulate their own emotional responses more effectively.

This game specifically targets emotional labelling: pairing a word and face to a scenario. Research shows that simply knowing the word for an emotion ("frustration," "pride," "worry") makes that emotion more manageable and less overwhelming. Building this vocabulary early has lifelong benefits.

Tips for Parents

Make a "feelings check-in" part of your daily routine - at bedtime, ask your child to point to or name how they are feeling and why. This normalises talking about emotions and reinforces the vocabulary from the game. During conflicts or upsets, name emotions calmly: "I can see you are feeling very angry right now. That feeling makes sense." Modelling emotional vocabulary is more powerful than any game. Avoid dismissing difficult emotions with "don't cry" - instead, validate and name them.
